Description

All members of the teaching faculty shall possess the following minimum qualifications: •A four-year degree from an approved institution in the major area they are assigned to teach; or•A two-year degree from an approved institution in the major area theyare assigned to teach; or•Practical experience of not less than two years in the major area they are assigned to teach; and •In addition, knowledge of the educational literature in the field, of the methods and techniques of handling industrial, commercial and occupational/vocational training.

DESCRIPTION: This Cyber Security course prepares you for an entry level Cyber Security IT career. The program gives you an understanding of the following skills required for a successful start in the Cyber Security IT field in a small to large organization. CompTIA Network+: • Network Models • Cabling and Topologies. • Ethernet Basics • Installing a physical Network • TCP/IP Basics • Routing. CompTIA Security+: • Risk Management. • Cryptography • Identity and Access Management • Tools of the Trade • Securing Individual Systems • The Basic LAN • Beyond the Basic LAN • Testing Your Infrastructure • Dealing with Incidents CISCO: • Network Fundamentals • Routing and Switching Fundamentals • Scaling Networks • Connecting Networks • Security Fundamentals • Network Automation and Programmability GOALS/OBJECTIVES: Cybersecurity Professionals detect cyberthreats and implement changes to protect an organization. A security operations center (SOC) team likely has several tiers of cybersecurity professionals that are responsible for monitoring, directing, containing and remediating IT threats. Cybersecurity Professionals may be tasked with anything from installing, administering and troubleshooting security solutions to writing up security policies and training documents for colleagues. While other job roles are responsible for specific part of the overall system, Cybersecurity Professionals must be able to take a step back and see the big picture to keep it secure from threats. Goal 1: The Cyber Security course will provide CompTIA Network+ IT and security professionals on a path of fundamental IT knowledge and certifications that will allow the student to demonstrate their knowledge on hardware, software, and network security. Goal 2: The Cyber Security course will build your knowledge of CompTIA Security+ certification. This is the beginning of the IT and Cyber Security career pathway. Have our students be prepared to pass the CompTIA Security+ Certification exam. • The Cyber Security course emphasizes CompTIA Security+ hands-on practical skills, ensuring the security professional is better prepared to problem solve a wider variety of issues. CompTIA Security+ focuses on the latest trends and techniques in risk management, risk mitigation, threat management, and intrusion detection. • The Cyber Security course covers Junior IT Auditor/Penetration Tested job role, in addition to the job roles for System Administrator, Network Administrator, and Security Administrator. Goal 3: The Cyber Security course will teach the students the fundamentals of CISCO switches and routers. How can an IT Security professional secure a network without the knowledge of securing a CISCO switch and router? The Cyber Security course will teach the skills required to develop a security infrastructure, recognize threats and network vulnerabilities, and mitigate security threats.

Prospective students are invited to visit the school and discuss their training needs, career goals and objectives with our staff. A student's ability to benefit from specific courses is determined by interviewing. The prospective student will need to tour the school or enroll in the program one-week before the start of the first day of class.
