Description

High School Diploma or Equivalent or remediation in math prior to taking the course

The Welding Career Training Program offered through the Career Center provides hands-on, industry-focused instruction designed to prepare adult learners and career-technical students for entry-level employment in the welding and metal fabrication fields. This program combines classroom instruction with extensive lab-based training in a fully equipped welding shop, allowing students to develop practical skills using industry-standard equipment and techniques.

Students receive training in core welding process of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG). Instruction also includes welding safety, blueprint reading, measurement and layout, metal preparation, welding symbols, and basic metallurgy. Emphasis is placed on proper technique, quality workmanship, and adherence to industry safety standards.

The program is designed to support individuals entering the skilled trades workforce, those seeking to upgrade their existing skills, or adults transitioning to a new career pathway. Through competency-based instruction and individualized support, participants gain the foundational skills needed to pursue employment in manufacturing, construction, fabrication, and other welding-related industries. Upon completion, students are prepared to pursue industry credentials and entry-level welding positions with local employers.
