Description

Currently hold, and maintain, the following credentials:
- ICAADA Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC), ICAADA Certified Recovery Coach (CRC) or Certified Recovery Coach II (CRC II) credential.
- ICAADA Certified Supervisor Peer Recovery-Peer Recovery (CSPR-PR) or Certified Supervisor Peer Recovery-Clinical (CSPR-CL) credential.

Possess a minimum of 2 years’ professional practical experience providing direct recovery support services.

Previous/current experience as a facilitator/trainer

Strong communication skills.

Strong understanding of learning styles.

Strong time management skills.

Ability to work autonomously and/or in a team environment.

Ability to provide professional representation of the recovery support profession and MHAI SWD Training Institute.

Experience and comfort with Zoom technology.

Proficient computer skills, including MS Office (specifically Excel), database development and maintenance.

Forward thinking is based upon supportive, outcome driven results.

Recovery support ethics is a two-day, interactive discussion around the ethical domains and criteria that recovery support professionals should follow to maximize outcomes for everyone the recovery support professional supports. All participants will learn more about how to maintain ethical standards around various topics that are involved with recovery support work. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to maintain appropriate ethical standards in recovery support services.

It is encouraged participants attend the MHAI SWD Training Institue Recovery Support fundamentals course prior to this training yet it is not required.

There are pre-requisites to obtain the Certified Peer Recovery Coach-Associate (CPRC-A), Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC), Certified Family Recovery Coach-Associates (CFRC-A), Certified Family Recovery Coach (CFRC) Certified Recovery Coach -Associates (CRC-A) or Certified Recovery Coach (CRC) certification that this educational training is a requirement of, that includes a high school diploma or equivalent state certificate.

Note: the CPRC level certificationsare for individuals who are in personal, lived experience of recovery from substance use, mental health or co-occurring disorders who wish to provide recovery support to those seeking/in recovery from substance use and/or mental health concerns. 

The CFRC levels are for family members of someone seeking and/or in recovery from substance use, mental health, and/or co-occurring disorders and do not themselves have personal lived experience of recovery from substance use, mental health, or co-occurring concerns, who wish to provide recovery support to family members or those seeking/in recovery from substance use and/or mental health concerns.

The CRC levels are for allies who do not have personal, lived experience of recovery from substance use, mental health, or co-occurring disorders who wish to provide recovery support to those seeking/in recovery from substance use and/or mental health concerns.  (Allies only, no person in recovery themselves or family members)

These training courses are held multiple times throughout the year and hold roughly 25-30 participants. Each registration period is first come, first serve until the training occupancy limit is reached.
