Description

Indiana State Approved Qualified Medication Aide Director with a Associates Degree in Nusing. Licensed Regristered Nuse, with Active License in the state Indiana. The Director, RN has over 30 years experience nursing nurse with experience in long-term care, acute care, and hospital setting.

The Qualified Medication Aide Certification Program ensures that individuals meet the requirements for a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) and are on the Indiana Nurse Aide Registry. This program is administered by the Indiana Department of Health, Division of Healthcare Education and Quality.Complete the 100 hour QMA Training Program.Must complete the 40 hours of supervised medication practicum (Note: student nurse are exempt from the 60 hours of classroom) A Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) is a CNA who has satisfactorily completed the state approved Qualified Medication Aide Course; demonstrated competency while dispensing and passing medications and or applying/administering treatments under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse; passed the state approved competency evaluation test and received certification; and completed and maintained a record of the required annual in-service training. The QMA program is regulated by the Indiana State Department of Health. Licenses must be renewed every two years, along with the individual’s CNA certification.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

1000 hours of documentated current CNA work experience in the past 24 months verified through previous or current employer. Active CNA certification in the state of Indiana. Minimum of 18 years of age. An official copy of GED/High School Diploma.

Registration is one week before the before start of program. Student must bring to registrations, diploma or GED, current CNA, and picture ID. No fellonies on criminal history check.
