Description

Instructors must have the required education and experience to appropriately teach the program content. Examples of education and experience include, but are not limited to, certificates and/or degrees from postsecondary institutions; certifications from industry-recognized agencies, and practical work experience in, or in a field closely related to, the career fields the program prepares students to enter. ProTrain confirms each instructor’s academic background and work experience to ensure they are qualified to teach in the program.

CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) is an intermediate-level certification that validates your cybersecurity analyst skills and demonstrates the importance of risk mitigation of combating threats to networks and devices through continuous security monitoring. It is the only intermediate high-stakes cybersecurity analyst certification with both hands-on, performance-based questions and multiple-choice to prove you have the most up to date security analyst skills.

This program prepares current and future IT professionals for a career in cybersecurity, with a focus on “defensive” strategies to protect an
organization from risk. Additionally, students are trained in the proper response to threats and attacks by applying environmental reconnaissance techniques like OS fingerprinting, e-mail harvesting, and social media profiling using tools such as Nmap, Netstat, and syslog. Students also learn to analyze the results of network reconnaissance and recommend or implement countermeasures.

Throughout the Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) program, students will learn the skills to:

  • Perform data analysis and interpret the results to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and risks to an organization
  • Apply behavior analytics to the IT security of an organization
  • Combat malware and advanced persistent threats (APTs)
  • Secure and protect applications and systems within an organization
  • Keep up latest trends in cybersecurity and anticipate new threats
