Bachelor`s degree in Health Sciences, or Medical Assistant employment experience along with holding a current NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assisting Certification.
In this 14 week course, students will explore the 7 Domains of Healthcare: Foundational Knowledge and Basic Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Clinical Patient Care, Patient Care Coordination and Education, Administrative Assisting, Communication and Customer Service, and Medical Law and Ethics. Medical Assistants perform clinical procedures and assist with administrative duties of physicians in the specialities of Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Family Medicine, Convenient Care, Chiropractic, OBGYN, and many others. Clinical procedures you will learn during this course include, but are not limited to, aseptic hand washing techniques, donning and doffing PPE, infant body measurements and immunizations, administering medications, taking vitals, and educating patients. Administrative duties discussed will include telecommunication, financial tasks, coding, and scheduling.
Students must score a TABE NRS Level 4 in reading and 3 in mathematics. Students must be 18 or older and obtain a High School Diploma or Equivalent before the course certification testing date.
