valid Class A CDL license for minimum 3 years, pass Department of Transportation Medical Test and Drug Test Screen, minimum High School Diploma, complete Background Check and Fingerprinting, clean Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR), complete Progressive Truck Driving School 'Train the Trainer' Program, pass Secretary of State Instructor Exam, receive an Instructor License.

A 240 hour Class A CDL program focuses on the safe and proper handling of a semi-tractor trailer in restricted areas and on public streets and highways. Students are trained in local traffic, gaining experience in safe driving techniques, as well as in various traffic environments emphasizing on backing skills.  This course provides knowledge and skills to prepare students for a written and a practical portion of the CDL examination. Moreover it familiarizes students with tractor-trailer systems and components also offering a defensive driving in adverse conditions. This program contains a wide variety of learning objectives to accommodate those who want to take advantage of the most complete and highly paid section of job openings in the trucking industry. This course includes not only the 200 hour program curriculum but also offers additional behind-the-wheel training and eligibility for three endorsements: hazardous materials, tankers and doubles –triples.

Qualifications for Enrollment in the Truck Driving Programs:

  • Be at least 18 years of age or 21 years of age to drive state to state
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries and to make entries on reports and records:
  • All students must have a 6th grade reading level. Reading comprehension exam that has been confirmed by Flesh-Kincaid will be administered to test reading level. Students must receive a score of 70% or better.
  • Pass the DOT physical and Drug screen.
  • All students must sign a MVR record report authorizing the school to obtain their Motor Vehicle History.
  • Students with a criminal background must disclose this information on the Criminal Conviction form.
  • Students that do not have a criminal background will sign an Affidavit of Felony Disclosure.

After satisfying admissions requirements, students will complete necessary paperwork including an enrollment agreement
and make satisfactory arrangements to pay all charges.
