BPI (Business Platform Initiatives)

Mission:

Business Platform Initiatives is an educational and training based program that offers opportunities for individuals or youth who are looking to gain skills, retention, and preparation for future goals.  We serve our customers by assisting with building a foundation to help advance in their own careers.  Through this initiative it will create a stronger community and ultimately economy, through career advancement and entrepreneurship.

  • In partnership with IAED (International Academy of Emergency Dispatch) we certify customers in Emergency Telecommunication.

  • Post-secondary mentorship

  • Hands on experience with training and preparation for next level career choices

Vision:

“Unifying Communities Through Innovation and Creating Platform for Success”

Core Values: (BIG)

  • Bravery – you understand the costs and risks of perceived or real possibility of failure, sacrifice and difficulties, nevertheless make decisions focused on the desired outcome (s).

  • Identity – Acknowledgment in action and thinking that your current mental, emotional and moral character traits are not bound by your past circumstances but are in your power to mold.

  • Growth Mindset – A phrase coined by Dr. Dweck to describe the underlying beliefs young people have about learning and intelligence.  When you believe you can get smarter, you understand that effort makes you stronger.  Therefore, put in extra time and effort, and that leads to higher achievement.

Project Background:

For participants, the project is designed to create platforms of opportunity for individuals who would like skills to move to the next level in their careers.  Not everyone has the opportunity or live in an environment which will provide inheritance, legacies, wealth, education, and connections that will assist them in reaching dreams and goals.  BPI would like to assist youth, low income families and individuals in need with training, education and opportunities in preparation for their careers.  Many businesses can find individuals with certain skills to work jobs, but retention tends to be an on-going challenge because of the lack of education.  The project will provide support in a non-judgmental atmosphere to bridge the gap in retention in employment by educating in:

  • Customer Service – One (1) efficient employee can do as much as four (4) average employees

  • Business Etiquette – Learning the social norms, behaviors and professional representation that can be offensive or can satisfy a customer or colleague

  • Communications – Everyday 205.6 billion emails are sent across the globe, only one third of emails are actually opened.  Companies with highly engaged employees can improve operating income by 19.2% over a 12 month period, so communications on all levels are important to a business growth and retention.

Project Objectives:

The objectives (strategies or implementation steps to attain goals) are specific and measurable.   Objectives for success include:

  • Participants will learn, adopt, and exhibit changed behaviors

  • Participants will complete training hours and international test for international certification

  • Achieving deliverables such as successful job training outcomes, independence and much more.

  • Providing a platform for participants to provide a legacy and inheritance for their future

Project Scope:

As indicated in the “background” section of this project, the project scope overlaps with the project background.  However, specifics to the scope of the work proposed are as follows:

  • The IAED Program is an international industry credential that validates and develops the business professional.  The program establishes a foundation-level industry-neutral certification for business professionals enabling employers and the candidate to have a platform to develop the Emergency Telecommunicators targeted positions within corporations.

  • Every year, millions of candidates leave the school environment to seek employment within organizations and government institutions.  The IAED program assists these business professionals and other business professionals by training and certifying the candidate with  skills needed in emergency situations.

  • This program requires 40 hours for completion

Students in high school can go through this program, however most Emergency Telecommunicator jobs require an high school diploma or equivalent in order to be hired. Student's with felonies can take the certification course, however; it isn't recommended as most Public Safety jobs will not hire with felonies.  There might be opportunities outside of Public Safety, it will be at the employer's discretion.

I will provide an orientation where applicants will go through registration, after that orientation; I will close registration.  If there is a special request, the caseworker or agency will need to contact me directly.
