Wagler Educaiton and Training Center is an accredited NCCER Training Site and a DWD Adult Education Site.
The instructor is an NCCER Instructor, test proctor, and performance evaluator. The instruction is employed by Department of Defense as a Heavy Equipment Operator, his is CCO Certfied, a member of the Operating Engineer Union Local 181 and OSHA certified. The instructor holds an associate degree in Heavy Equipment Operations and Diesel Mechanics.
This course is Heavy Equipment Operations, a level one NCCER certification which requires NCCER Core as a prerequisite. Students will learn to safely operate several types of power construction equipment such as skid loaders, utility tractors, forklifts, dozers and excavators. Students will be able to work on a wide variety of projects including regular construction building, roads, bridges, mines, railroads, and timber operations. Students will also obtain their OSHA-10.
This course is 10 week in length with the first two weeks focusing on passing the NCCER Core exam and the remaining 8 weeks focusing on HeavyEquipment Operations. This course meets in person Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM for testing and hands-on training. Students will operate utility tractors, forklifts, and skid steers during hands-on training. Students will use a training simulator to operate dozers and exdcavators. Students will be assigned WIN career readiness online as well as training modules through NCCER. Modules covered are as follows:
Students must be over the age of 18, score a minimum of 518 in Reading and 513 in math on the TABE Assessment. Students must have a high school diploma or equivelant or be willing to work towards one while in the course.
