Peer Supervisor - AS Human Services, CAPRC-ll CSPR-PR
The Certified Peer Support Professional(CPSP) On-the-Job Training Program works in cooperation with the CPSP training offered through the Department of Mental Health and Addiction(DMHA) and is focused on developing Harm Reduction & Peer Coaching Skills to bridge the gap for those who have experienced stigma and discrimination when accessing services. Participants will complete the 48 hour DMHA CPSP training, pass the CPSP certification exam, and complete all CEUs to maintain year 1 certification. Participants will receive an additional 80 hours of continued instruction and support while completing 120 hours of work experience with a mentor. This program takes 5 months to complete and contains required curriculum in Ethics, Professionalism, Self-Care, Harm Reduction, Cultural Competency, and Advocacy. Areas of practice concentrations in Group Facilitation, Street Outreach, Community Education, and Crisis Hotline Operator are also available but not required.
Applicants without a high school diploma or HSE will need to enroll cuncurrently in thier local adult education program.
This program is offered twice yearly. Application deadline is two weeks before the program start date.
