Program faculty bring a minimum of two years of professional experience as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) or Registered Nurses (RNs). Instructors have extensive experience in teaching adults utilizing diverse methods, tools, and strategies to create a dynamic and effective learning experience.
The Phlebotomy Technician program at Indy Institute is a comprehensive course designed to train students in blood sample collection techniques using various medical devices such as syringes, lancets, and needles. The curriculum covers essential topics including medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, venipuncture procedures, ethics, legal issues, safety protocols, infection control, specimen handling and more.
Students will complete at least 30 venipuncture and 10 capillary sticks during the course. Upon successful completion of the program, students are prepared to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Exam and enter the healthcare field as skilled, entry-level phlebotomists.
In addition to technical skills, the program provides professional and career development support, including job search strategies, resume writing, interview preparation, and guidance on navigating the healthcare job market.
