Tool Makers analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists’ hand tools. They use this equipment to form useful parts from metal, plastic, or other raw materials. These parts are incorporated into finished products with a wide variety of applications from parts for a car assembly line to devices in the medical field. Tool Makers are responsible for safely and efficiently operating equipment, keeping equipment in proper working order, and producing parts that meet quality standards
on track to graduate High School.
