The Barbering Apprenticeship Program in Indiana is a structured, hands-on training pathway that prepares individuals for licensure and successful careers as professional barbers. This apprenticeship combines classroom instruction with paid, on-the-job training under the guidance of experienced, licensed barbers.
Over the 12-week instructional phase, apprentices complete formal coursework in key areas such as haircutting, shaving, sanitation, skin care, and customer service. Instruction is delivered through a blend of in-person classes, online modules, and practical learning at a licensed barbershop.
This program is part of a broader 2,000-hour registered apprenticeship designed to meet Indiana state licensing requirements and industry standards. Apprentices gain real-world experience while building the technical skills and professional habits required to succeed in the grooming industry.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Students may enroll monthly until the cohort reaches capacity. Priority is given to those who complete intake at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled class start date.
Enrollment confirmations are issued within 5 business days of application review. Orientation and supply pickup will be provided the week before the cohort begins.
