All SCC instructors must have a valide WS teaching license issued by the State of Indiana.
The Southeastern Career Center’s Welding Technology program, aligned with Indiana’s Next Level Programs of Study (NLPS), offers students comprehensive training in high-demand welding skills. The curriculum encompasses various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, and provides instruction in processes such as arc welding, resistance welding, brazing, and soldering. Notably, SCC is among the few high schools nationwide to offer robotic cell welding training, equipping students with advanced industry-relevant skills.
Students have the opportunity to earn certifications like AWS and OSHA 10, enhancing their employability in sectors such as manufacturing, construction, and energy. The program's alignment with NLPS ensures that the training meets current industry standards and addresses the regional demand for skilled welders.
By integrating hands-on experience with theoretical knowledge, the SCC Welding Technology program prepares students for immediate entry into the workforce and supports the development of a skilled labor pipeline in the region.
