Description

Instructor must meet the minimum requirements as established by the Federal Motor Carrier's Safety Administration. In addition, Western Highland Corp/Center for Transportation Safety require instructors must meet the following requirments;

1. 7 years experience operating a commercial motor vehicle.

2. Clean Motor Vehicle Record. No convictions operating any vehicle type under the influence of drugs or alcohol. No Careless or Reckless Convictions.

This program is specifically designed to meet the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Entry Level Driver Program for Class A Commercial Drivers.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Students must obtain the following prior to entering the program.

1. Obtain a  DOT Medical Certificate for Commercial Drivers

2. Obtain a Commercial Driver's License Class A Permit from the State Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

3. Complete and acquire a Clean Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Screening ordered by the training provider and have no prior drug or alcohol convictions reported to the Federal Drug/Alcohol Clearing House.

4. Provide proof of a Clean Motor Vehicle Record for the previous 3 years.

All prerequisites must be completed 7 days prior to entry into the program. Drug and Alcohol Screening is random and schedule will be provided by the training provider within 10 days of course start date.
