Bachelor’s degree or higher in:
- Psychology
- Education
- Applied Behavior Analysis
- Special Education
- Social Work
- Or a related human services field
Certification

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or
Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) — required if the training is intended to meet the BACB’s 40-hour RBT training requirement.

Certification must be current and in good standing.
Experience

At least 1–2 years of supervised experience delivering ABA services.

Familiarity with behavior intervention plans, data collection, and ABA ethics.

Experience training or supervising ABA staff is often preferred.

CPR/First Aid certification (if working with live clients during training).

State-specific licensing or registration (in states where behavior technicians are regulated — Indiana does not currently license RBTs, but some employers require background checks and registry enrollment).
Lead Instructor → BCBA or BCaBA with 2+ years field experience.
Assistant Instructor/Trainer → May be RBT with several years’ experience and under BCBA supervision.
