Minimum Credentials for Program Faculty

1?? Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (required) in one of the following fields:

    • Food Science or Technology

    • Microbiology or Biology

    • Nutrition or Dietetics

    • Agricultural Sciences with food safety focus

    • Business Administration with quality/compliance emphasis

  • Master’s degree (preferred) for lead instructors or advanced modules


2?? Industry Certifications (preferred but recommended)

  • HACCP Certification – Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points

  • ServSafe Manager Certification

  • GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Certification

  • ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor

  • Food Safety Professional (CFSP, CFS, or equivalent)


3?? Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance

  • Demonstrated experience in:

    • Implementing and managing food safety programs (HACCP, GMP)

    • Conducting audits, inspections, and corrective actions

    • Ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, and state regulations

    • Leading teams in production or food processing environments


4?? Teaching or Training Competency

  • Experience teaching or mentoring adult learners or workforce participants in food safety or compliance programs

  • TOT (Training of Trainers) certification preferred for workforce programs

  • Strong communication, facilitation, and coaching skills to translate technical compliance concepts into actionable workplace practices

Program Description – Food Safety & Compliance Manager

The Food Safety & Compliance Manager Program is a specialized workforce training program designed to prepare professionals to lead and maintain high-level food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance systems across the food production and processing industries.
