Course Objective: To equip students with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on skills necessary for proficiently performing Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and provide an online course for an OSHA 10 certification in the manufacturing career pathway
Course Description: This course offers an in-depth exploration of the principles, techniques, and applications of SMAW. Students will engage in practical welding exercises and work with various metals and joint types. They will develop skills in producing quality welds, troubleshooting common issues, and interpreting welding specifications and blueprints. By the end of the course, students will be prepared for entry-level welding positions and tested for their certification. The program concludes with a hands-on capstone project: building a metal stool that demonstrates each student's craftsmanship and technical proficiency.
They must obtain an NRS level 3 in TABE reading and math.
October 15th, we will no longer be accepting students.
