To enroll in the Adult Education program, students are required to complete the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) as part of the
initial placement process. The TABE measures essential reading, math, and language skills to determine each student’s academic readiness and appropriate class level. A minimum score equivalent to a sixth-grade level (TABE Level M or higher) is typically required for entry
into most Adult Basic Education (ABE) or High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation classes. Students who score below this threshold
may be placed in foundational skill-building or English Language Learning (ELL) courses to strengthen their academic base before
advancing.
