Program instructors are licensed professional barbers in the State of Indiana with multiple years of industry experience. The program sponsor is a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship sponsor and provides training aligned with Indiana State Board of Barber Examiners requirements.
The Higher Image Hair Studio Barber Apprenticeship Program prepares participants for employment as licensed professional barbers in Indiana. The program combines 2,000 hours of supervised on-the-job training with related technical instruction covering sanitation, haircutting, shaving, styling, customer service, business operations, and state regulations. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Indiana State Board of Barber Examiners licensing exam and receive a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Certificate of Completion.
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent (or be concurrently enrolled in high school through an approved youth apprenticeship or dual enrollment pathway). Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States and meet Indiana State Board of Barber Examiners requirements.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Enrollment start dates are flexible and based on apprentice placement availability and program capacity.
