Indiana Department of Barber and Cosmetology requirements for an Electrolysis Instructor is you have to have already received a Cosmetologists, Estheticians, or Electrologists license and have 6 months of experience in the field before you can go into the instructors program to become an instructor and receive an instructors license in order to teach in the Electrolysis program.
The Electrologists course/program provides 300 clock hours of instruction over a minimum of 4 months. The primary
purpose of the Electrologists course/program is to prepare individuals to become licensed electrologists, focusing on the
permanent removal of hair using electrolysis, a method that uses electricity to destroy hair follicles.
In addition to covering skin tissue physiology and endocrine system activities, the program investigates a variety of
electrolysis techniques, such as Thermolysis, Galvanic Electrolysis, and Blend Method. Under the supervision of an
experienced instructor, students use what they have learned in the classroom in clinical labs and work with electrolysis and
other hair removal methods and technology to treat irregularities that cause excessive hair growth. The Electrolysis course
is 300 clock hours and meets the requirements of the Indiana Cosmetology/Barber State Board of Licensing and
Regulation. The scheduled finish time for this course is 4 months part-time.
Must be at least 18 years of age already licensed as an Esthetician or a Cosmetologist, already have your high school diploma or equivalent: Valid ld & Proof of US citizen (Driver's license,US Passport, Birth certificate, & Social security).
