Relevant industry experience in pharmacy or a closely related field and hold a Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB) or other relevant industry-recognized credentials.
The Pharmacy Technician Training program prepares students for entry-level roles in retail, hospital, and clinical pharmacy settings. The program combines technical training in pharmacy operations, medication safety, calculations, and pharmacy law with adult education in reading, writing, and math, along with workforce preparation skills such as communication, professionalism, and job readiness. Students also prepare for national certification exams, including the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). The program is designed for learners who meet prerequisite reading and math skill levels and are seeking a pathway into an in-demand occupation.
The program prerequisite is TABE or WorkKeys scores at the ABE Intermediate High level in reading and math.
