All instructional staff at WeFAM Barber College must hold a current and active Indiana Barber Instructor License issued by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA). Instructors must also maintain compliance with all state regulations, demonstrate industry experience, and possess the ability to effectively train and supervise students in both theoretical and practical barbering skills.
The Barbering Program at WeFAM Barber College, Inc. is a 1500-hour comprehensive training program designed to prepare students for licensure and employment in the barbering industry. The program includes hands-on instruction in haircutting, shaving, sanitation, chemical services, and client services under the supervision of licensed instructors. Students gain real-world experience in a clinical environment while developing professional and business skills necessary for employment or entrepreneurship. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to sit for the Indiana State Board of Barber Examiners licensing examination.
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). All applicants must complete the enrollment process, including submission of required documentation and acceptance into the program. No prior barbering experience is required.
WeFAM Barber College operates on a rolling enrollment basis. Applications are accepted year-round, with new classes starting on a monthly basis. Prospective students are encouraged to apply in advance of their desired start date to ensure availability.
