Current Paramedic NREMT certification/license.
This course includes four components: a combination of online and live theory lecture; multiple laboratory sessions for students to practice topics learned in theory, and to obtain BLS, ACLS, PHTLS, EPC, and AMLS Certification; a clinical component that consists of 192 ambulance/field hours, 108 field or hospital hours, and 12 hospital-only hours; a Capstone phase where the student will function as a team leader on an EMS unit and complete the final evaluations.
Requires current NREMT certification as an EMT.
The student must be able to read and write in accordance with at least an 8th-grade level. Must be able to read, write and speak English at a conversational level, including the ability to learn medical terminology.
The school operates on a rolling admission schedule. As such, paramedic courses are offered throughout the year to accommodate the needs of community partners. Students must apply at least one month before the start date for their chosen paramedic course.
