Program faculty must hold an active Indiana cosmetology license, have a minimum of two years of professional experience behind the chair, and have completed an educator training program. Faculty must demonstrate competency in the technical and guest-service skills they teach and be trained on The Hairman Salon Co. Associate Program curriculum and evaluation standards.
The Hairman Salon Co. Associate Program is a 24-week, paid post-licensure development program for newly licensed cosmetologists. The program bridges the gap between cosmetology school and independent work as a professional hairstylist through live instruction, supervised hands-on practice, coaching, and salon-floor experience. Training includes salon systems and guest experience, shampoo and blow-dry services, barbering, women’s haircutting, color application, blonding, dimensional and custom color, consultation, formulation, efficiency, retention, client building, retail education, goal setting, and an understanding of the business metrics needed to build a successful and sustainable career behind the chair. Participants are evaluated throughout the program using technical benchmarks, required model work, weekly learning checkpoints, and educator approval before transitioning into full-time stylist positions.
Applicants must have completed an approved cosmetology education program and hold an active Indiana cosmetology license before beginning the Associate Program. Applicants must also complete The Hairman Salon Co.’s application and interview process.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. There is no fixed application deadline. Qualified applicants may apply at any time, and interviews are scheduled based on program availability and upcoming Associate Program start dates.
