Program faculty must hold a current and active Indiana barber license and have demonstrated professional experience in barbering, sanitation and safety practices, customer service, and barbershop operations. Faculty must also be qualified to provide instruction and supervision in accordance with the approved Registered Apprenticeship Program standards.

Instructors and mentors are expected to maintain all licenses required by the State of Indiana, remain in good standing, and possess the practical knowledge necessary to train apprentices in technical barbering skills, workplace professionalism, and business operations.

Applicants must meet the eligibility and selection requirements established in The Scoreboard Barbershop’s approved Registered Apprenticeship Program. Applicants must be legally eligible to work, able to perform the essential duties of the occupation, complete the required application and interview process, and meet any applicable employer and state licensing requirements. No college degree or prior barbering coursework is required.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, based on program capacity and the availability of apprenticeship placements. Qualified applicants may apply at any time and will be considered as openings become available.
