As with many CompTIA certifications the Security+ is an entry level certification into the field of cyber security. In today’s modern networks the main tenants of security must be adhered to by companies and are a major focus for IT professionals. This course will describe various security threats, mitigation techniques, and risk assessment to help the IT professional understand the various aspects of the subject at hand. It is important to know the types of threats that our networks and data are vulnerable to every day. It is equally important to understand the configurations and security controls that are available to mitigate those threats. Using this information, the IT professional can ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of networks and resources. This will be offered on weekends to accommodate learners who are employed elsewhere. An instructor who is currently employed in this field will lead instruction and design coursework.
