Program faculty must hold an active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential and have a minimum of two years of pharmacy practice experience. Faculty must demonstrate competency in pharmacy operations, medication safety, pharmacy calculations, federal pharmacy requirements, and prescription/order processing. Pharmacists and pharmacy interns with appropriate pharmacy practice experience may also serve as instructors.
Rooted Health Institute's PTCE Exam Prep for Experienced Pharmacy Technicians – Self-Paced program is a six-week, 30-hour online exam-preparation program designed for experienced pharmacy technicians with at least 500 hours of pharmacy technician work experience who are preparing for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE). The program provides structured review of medications, federal requirements, patient safety and quality assurance, pharmacy calculations, and order entry and processing. Students complete a diagnostic assessment, recorded instructional modules, practice activities, knowledge checks, and a comprehensive PTCE readiness assessment. Students receive six months of online course access to support continued review and preparation.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of 500 hours of pharmacy technician work experience. This program is intended for experienced pharmacy technicians preparing for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) through PTCB's work-experience eligibility pathway. Applicants are responsible for meeting all current PTCB eligibility requirements before applying for the PTCE.
There is no fixed application deadline. Rooted Health Institute operates on a rolling admissions basis, and applications are accepted year-round. Applicants may enroll throughout the year based on program availability and completion of all admission requirements.
