This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), commonly known as MIG welding. It includes safety procedures, welding equipment setup, metal preparation, and welding techniques. Considers various gas metal welding (GMAW) processes including micro wire, flux-core, inner shield, and submerged arc with emphasis on metal inert gas welding. Techniques of welding in all positions on various thicknesses metal. Provides advanced skills and fundamental knowledge in Gas metal Arc Welding. This course is designed for beginning welders, fabricators and those seeking welder certification. Emphasizes safe practices in Gas metal Arc Welding. In addition, this course will prepare students to take nationally recognized AWS 3G certification exam(s).
In order to be eligible for Workforce Ready Grant, students must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
