Instructor should have 5 year experience in the field. Must have a CCMA certification amound others.
This program is designed to give the student basic knowledge to gain employment as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting. The student will first be introduced to the Medical Terminology. Other classes that the Medical Assistant course will include are; office procedures, law and ethics, medical billing and coding. The course will also include the basics of Phamacology and medication administration techniques. Also covered will be assisting the physician with examination and minor office surgeries. Phlebotomy and EKG will also be a part of this course as well as in-office lab testing. The clinical rotation will be held at hospital laboratories, medical offices, and or clinics. The clinical portion will be determined by the program director. The minimum clock hours of rotation is 160 hours. Upon completion of this course the student will be eligible to sit for the CCMA National Exam with the NHA.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
