Overall, there is a nursing shortage beginning with CNA in the profession. The turn over rate is sufficient to classify as a high in demand need to the healthcare field. They will be prepared to enter the field in an entry-level position. Nurse aides will be taught skills to assist with the personal care tasks of patients such as grooming, bathing, feeding, transfers/mobility assistance, dressing, and toileting needs. They will assist in basic tasks such as measuring height, weight, obtaining vital signs. Armed with these basic skills, the nurse aide can better assist the licensed professional.
-High school diploma PREFERED but not required-Criminal background free of felonies and misdemeanors- Read, write and speak English- Able to pass a basic reading comprehension and math test on admission (80% or above)-18 year of age unless otherwise deemed emancipated youth (no younger than 16yr)
