Five years over-the-road driving experience, posses a Class A CDL, completesafety background check,and are able to pass a DOT Physical and Drug Screen.
This program is designed for the needs ofstudents with no prior knowledge or experience in truck driving. The objective is to provide students with anin-depth look at the trucking industry and a thorough introduction to long haultruck driving. The program is structuredto provide students with basic knowledge and practical skills necessary to takethe Class A CDL test and assist in preparing them to become entry level over-the-road,regional or local drivers of tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles. Graduates take a Class A CDL administeredby the State, and can include doubles and triples, tank truck, and hazardousmaterials endorsements. Successfulcompletion of the program qualifies graduates to work in a co-driver/drivertrainee position, although some graduates may be qualified to work as a solodriver, depending on individual skill development and employer requirements andpolicies.
Valid driver's license, age 21 and over,CDL Permit, clean motor vehicle record, pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen and meet DOT English language proficiency.
