LPN, RN or above. Prior teaching experience is preferred.
This program prepares individuals to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.Under the supervision of physicians, a CCMA will provide medical office administrative services and perform clinical duties including patient intake and care, routine diagnostic and recording procedures, pre-examination and examination assistance, and the administration of medications and first aid. This course includes instruction in basic anatomy and physiology; medical terminology; medical law and ethics; patient psychology and communications; medical office procedures; and clinical diagnostic, examination, testing, and treatment procedures. Additionally, students are required to complete the WIN Career Readiness Essential Soft Skills training educating on effective communication, conveying professionalism, promoting teamwork, problem solving and critical thinking.This program is provided with an externship requirement. FWCSCE partners with local hospitals and physician offices for externship and job placement of students.
Students must be at least 18 years of age, hold a High School Diploma or Equivalent, complete 11/12 TABE testing and have their Hep B vaccine.
Application for admission into the program must be received two weeks before class start date. Provided all WIN career modules, remediation and testing is completed.
