He/she must have a CLA license from the Manufacturing Skills Standard Council and have the requisite skills and experience necessary to deliver soft skills education.
The Logistics Readiness Certificate starts with a seven-hour soft skills module titled The Secret Life of an Exceptional Employee. The lesson plan helps participants better understand integrity, trustworthiness, attitude, cooperation, reliability, flexibility, adaptability, and motivation and how those skills impact job performance. The hallmark of the Logistics Readiness Certificate is the Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) curriculum. It addresses the core competencies and foundational skills of front-line material handling workers (entry level to first-line supervision) across the supply chain: from factories to warehouses, and from distribution centers to transporters. The CLA certification system is based on nationally validated standards defined by industry subject matter experts. The CLA focuses on foundational skills related to the global supply chain lifecycle, logistics, material handling, and safety, quality, communications, teamwork, and information technology. This Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) program consists of 30 contact hours delivered in a blended approach of both instructor-led and e-learning instructional formats. Participants develop high-performance supply chain and logistics skills through lectures, self-paced studies, presentations and individual/group activities both inside and outside of the classroom. Each participant will sit for the national CLA exam. He or she will also participate in a WorkKeys assessment based upon a predetermined occupational profile within the Logistics industry. Participants will be assessed in four key categories: Applied Math, Locating Information, Observation, and Reading for Information.
