The purpose of this General Insurance Sales Associate (GISA) technical certificate is to provide the academic and the occupational skill training necessary to prepare students for high growth career and entrepreneurial opportunities in the insurance and financial services industry. This course will provide industry exposure, preparation for professional licensure, and the occupational readiness for career and entrepreneurial opportunities in insurance and financial services. Students will learn to evaluate customer information and provide information on insurance and financial services related products, and make suitable recommendations. Students will take part in theory and practical experiences that emphasize competency in insurance and financial consultancy. GISA training hours can be applied to the General Insurance Sales Associate Apprenticeship Program once he/she has been accepted into the Apprenticeship Program.
