Instructors must be certified welders. Instructors must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent. Instructors must pass criminal background checks.
This course is designed to prepare students to gain the necessary skills to pass the horizontal, vertical and flat level welding test approved by an American Welding Society Inspector. Students will have the option of GMAW, SMAW, or GTAW Welding. Students will attend an 8 week course Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5PM - 8 PM. Students will be assigned distance ed via textbook. Students will also be assigned Essential Soft Skills on WIN. Each student will be provided with safety gear and tools of their own to begin employment upon completion of the course.
Students must score a minimum of a 501 in Math and a minimum of 519 in Reading on the TABE assessment.
