The main objectives of the course are to take entry level painters through an apprenticeship training so that they become skilled painters, provide both classroom and on-the-job hands-on training, and develop professionalism and leadership skills.  These objectives are specifically-designed for the residential painter by taking them through a more time-effecient program than is often seen with traditional apprenticeships.  In order to achieve these objectives, the 2.5-year course will be structured as follows: 

• One (1) semester (Spring or Fall) will make up 190 Hours of classroom & hands-on instruction.
• On-the-job training (OJT) will coincide with classroom training.  Completion of 4500 hours will be required.
• Curriculum will include technical skill training of preparation, protection, paint products, job sequencing, crew leadership, and interior/exterior techniques.
