Qualifications of Instructors:

Training instructors must possess a valid/active Commercial Driver License and show at least 2 year of verifiable commercial driving experience.

Program Description:

C1's Class-A Commercial Driver License (CDL) training is a program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills, such as pre-trip inspections, proper vehicle control, and road driving skills, to drive trucks, delivery vehicles, for-hire vehicles and other commercial vehicles, or to instruct commerical vehicle operators. Includes instruction in operating gas, diesel, or electrically-powered vehicles; loading and unloading cargo or passengers; reporting delays or accidents on the road; verifying load against shipping papers; arranging transportation for personnel; and keeping records of receipts and fares. Courses include both theory training and behind-the-wheel training. C1 is a registered training provider on the federal Training Provider Registry and our courses are fully compliant with federal Entry Level Driver Training requirements, as set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

Prerequisites Description:

While no particular level of formal education is required, candidates must be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen, must be able to obtain their CDL permit, and be able to read, speak and understand the English Language. Candidates should also have a good driving record, minimal criminal background, and verifiable work history in order to allow them to be eligible for employment as a commercial driver.
