Instructors must qualify as stated below. Any exception will be reviewed on an individual basis and must beapproved by the Director of On-Ground Education.? Graduation from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education orthe Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or an otherwise recognized training entity(e.g., hospital-based program) in the specialty field or subject area in which they teach.Additionally, the faculty member possesses three (3) years of occupational (i.e., practical)experience in the subject field in which they teach; and holds or is able to obtain within 90 days ofstart date of employment, a current license, certification or other credential as required by local,state and/or federal laws to work in the field. In the State of Tennessee, the occupationalexperience must be a minimum of three (3) years of practical experience within the last seven (7)years in the subject area to be taught*OR? A minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience, as described above, for those instructors whoare not graduates from an accredited program in the field in which they teach. Additionally, musthold a current license, certification or other credential as required by local, state and/or federallaws to work in the field**additional requirements or exceptions may be applicable based on the state, program, and accreditation requirements.

The Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration program is 30 weeks in length for day students and 42.5 weeks in length evening students, 720 clock hours, 52 quarter credit hours in length, 360 lecture contact hours of lecture with applicable outside work, 240 laboratory/clinical contact hours, and 180 externship hours. The graduate of the Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration program will be prepared to seek entry-level employment in a variety of healthcare settings, including, but not limited to: physician’s offices, multi-specialty clinics, surgery centers, hospitals, long-term care facilities and home healthcare agencies. During the Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration program students will be instructed in coursework covering: Basic human anatomy and physiology and disease processes and the associated pharmacotherapy along with medical terminology. Administrative office skills that includes medical charting and filing, basic word processing and computer information and other routine medical office procedures. Good interpersonal and customer service skills that consist of oral and written communication, including telephone communication. Financial recordkeeping skills that include accounts receivable and payable as well as preparing a payroll. Proper completion of medical insurance claim forms including the required coding. 1. Each Student will satisfactorily complete an evaluation that measures general ability. The evaluation used is the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam. A score of 16 correct answers is required for the Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration Program and a score of 15 correct answers is required for acceptance into all other programs.2. Students entering Ross Medical Education Center must have graduated from a valid high school, must have completed a recognized equivalent (GED), or must have completed a secondary education in a home school setting that is treated as a home school or private school under state law to be eligible for admission to Ross Medical Education Center. Students entering the Dental Assistant and Pharmacy Technician Program must also be 18 years of age. Students entering the Pharmacy Technician Program must also pass a required background check. All other students must be at least 18 years of age at the time they complete classroom training and begin externship.3. The Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant or Medical Insurance Billing Office Administrative diploma/certificate program course content must be satisfactorily completed at Ross College or Ross Medical Education Center in order to enroll in a degree completion program. Determination for admission is made by the Campus Director after candidates are screened and evaluated to determine their academic capabilities and career potentials.Students failing to meet specific attendance requirements from their start date will be unregistered from courses.
