9622 Basic /Intro to Welding Principles This is a beginning course combining fundamentals of welding principals for TIG, MIG and Stick., . This is geared for the for the understanding of theory and lab practical application of welding of common metals and understanding their properties. We will be utilizing Welding machines in actual lab experiences using and applying the theory of operation of a welding machine and its characteristics using DCEP and DCEN current flow, electron flow and conventional / novice basic understanding of the welding machine. The objective of this course is to introduce a plant maintenance personnel to basic theory as well as problem solving strategies. This course will involve students in the development, building and providing written and oral understanding with associated lab experience by making logical conclusions from practical experience in the sizing and purpose of field application. The student is to have an equivalent background in basic math and able to demonstrate the proper use of test equipment while supervised.
