Excellent interpersonal skills with adult students; expertise in professional bookkeeping skills; ability to report to work as assigned; current Indiana teacher or occupational specialist licensure; knowledge of skills required to pass the AIPB certification tests; knowledge of best practices in career and technical education.

The bookkeeper certification course is designed for professional bookkeepers and leads to national certification with the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). The AIPB certification is a high professional standard and the only national standard for bookkeepers. Becoming a Certified Bookkeeper (CB) can increase your earning potential, enhance your professional status, and offer you a decisive edge in any job market. This certified bookkeeper certification course was created by the AIPB to prepare experienced bookkeepers for the certification exam at any Prometric Test Center. Certified Bookkeepers (CB's) are to bookkeeping what CPA's are to accounting: the elite of the profession. The program consists of six separate subject areas: Adjusting entries (accruals and deferrals) Correction of accounting errors (includes the bank reconciliation) Basic book and tax depreciation Basic payroll—paying wages, withholding, depositing and reporting taxes using the basic forms (W-2, 941, 940, 8109) Recording and costing out merchandise inventory Internal Controls and Fraud Prevention
