Having advanced through the professorial ranking system to Professor status in 1997, he specializes in the area of Operating Systems and computer and network security, with an emphasis in Microsoft Networking topics. This includes an extensive study of Microsoft Windows NT4, Microsoft Windows 2000, 2003, 2008, 2012 Server. He is also CISSP, CASP, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI), and CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Linux+, and Healthcare-IT Technician certified. In addition he specializes in the areas of Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft SQL Server. Since 1999, James has worked as a Microsoft Certified contract trainer for a variety of training centers and professional businesses throughout the US and the overseas. He has conducted hundreds of hours of training covering 35 or more IT certification topics. He wasone of the first to receive a CompTIA Healthcare IT certification in 2012 and has since lead certification training in this topic for many healthcare organizations.
This career choice is ideal for the person who wishes to prepare for a career in the Information Technology field by obtaining a NATIONAL certification. Students get the option of two different career pathway certification combination, (Path 1) Certified Electronic Healthcare Records Specialist CEHRS and CompTIA A+ for a healthcare path or (Path 2) CompTIA A+ and Net+ for Information Technology path .This 26 week Healthcare IT program serves as a bridge between the IT and Healthcarecourse curriculum. In this program,students receive a background in HIT standards, regulations, and workflows so theycan best understand the healthcare environment. By applying what has been learned in the prerequisite healthcare and IT courses,students will gain a thorough understanding of how to implement and maintain HIT systems in a variety of medical/clinical settings. This program provides a solid understanding of regulatory requirements, healthcare terminology and acronyms, and code of conduct and security best practices. In this course, students are provided hands-on practical application through the use of software demos and exercises. With a combination of virtual lab exercises and instructor demonstrations, students are provided with the tools needed tobegin an IT Career. Students will also learn Medical Office Procedures and Administration, development and management of ElectronicHealth Records, and A+ Comprehensive. MedCerts provides progress reports bi-weekly; which contributes to our student program completion rate.
