Experience at a minimum journey or technician level in their area of expertise OR a minimum of three years’ experience as a certified teacher in a vocational/technical construction or maintenance-related training program. A Master Trainer may also serve as an instructor if they meet the above criteria and submit Form 101 and the ICTP information sheet.Course Credential Standard: Credentials other than the program/discipline standard that may appropriately qualify one to teach a specific course. Examples might include a licensure, certification, specialty coursework, etc. specific to the single course.Professional Certification: A certificate by an external state, regional, national, or international agency that attests to significant breadth and depth of knowledge within a field of study.

The NCCER Core course provides individuals with an overview of various fields of basic safety, introduction to construction math, power tools, hand tools, basic rigging, basic communication skills, construction drawings, essential employability skill, and material handling. Students will develop the knowledge and skills related to the Core curriculum and its application to work in the industrial trades. This course integrates both academic knowledge and technical skills. Students will learn, apply and transfer knowledge to various employment settings and integrate problem-solving skills. The national registry deems the graduate “NCCER Core Certified.” NCCER is the National Center for Construction Education and Research accrediting training sponsor and issues credentialing in the individual construction industry-based modules. This course also includes OSHA 10 certification.
