Description

1. Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in chemistry, physics, engineering or engineering technology; or2. Possesses an earned associate degree in technology, with a baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in supervision, business, or industrial/vocational education, with academic preparation appropriate to the program; or3. Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution with an advanced level, national certification appropriate to the program.And, faculty meeting one of the above educational criteria must also have one of the following: "Professional certification in the field; or" Two years of directly related work experience

The Advanced Automation and Robotics Certificate will produce an Automation and Robotics Technician that has both knowledge and experience with automated manufacturing equipment. In addition these graduates will have acquired excellent work habits through this program's unique blend of classes for three days per week combined with a paid part time technical job (internship) for two days per week. Ivy Tech classes will emphasize industrial technology and advanced manufacturing subjects which will directly relate to their job. This program also operates in a cohort fashion which means that students will attend classes and finish the program as a group. A faculty member will directly manage the cohort, act as adviser to the students, and work with area manufacturers to match the students with their jobs.
