Business Administration Program Standard: (Effective February, 2019)A qualified faculty member in Business Administration meets the program standard through one of four routes:1. Possesses an earned masters degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a business-administration-related field as appropriate to the program; or2. Possesses an earned related or out-of-field masters degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 post-secondary semester hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory principle(s) level in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a business-administration-related field as appropriate to the program; or3. Possesses an earned related or out-of-field masters degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:? Professional certification (national, regional or state) in business related field? Two years of in-field professional employment in business field? Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award? Documentation of research and publication in the field? Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelors degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEUs, vendor, or military; or4. Possesses an earned bachelors degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in business administration, public administration, management, marketing, or a business-administration-related field as appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following:? Professional certification (national, regional or state) in business related field? Two years of in-field professional employment in business related field? Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award? Documentation of research and publication in the field? Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelors degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEUs, vendor, or military.BUSN 201 Course Standard:1. Meets Business Administration program standard; or2. Possess an earned Juris Doctorate Degree.
WHY CHOOSE THE BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM? Organizations operate on business principles. A degree in business prepares you to work in a variety of for-profit as well as not-for-profit settings, including manufacturing and service environments. Ivy Tech offers four different degree options in Business Administration. Three of these options, the Technical Certificate, Associate of Applied Science and Associate of Science, are also available through distance education. All business students are required to complete a common core of five classes that focus on business principles and concepts as well as fundamental accounting and computer skills necessary for successful employment or transfer to a four-year degree. Students preparing for immediate workforce entry wil ltake additional professional and technical courses needed to successfully compete in the job market. Cost of books mary vary.
