Ivy Tech Industrial Technology program provides education and training that's largely hands-on, using a variety of training equipment and instruments. Students can take courses on job-specific topics ranging from welding to fluid power systems.

Students learn concepts and skills including:

  • Basic and emerging principles and concepts of the industrial technology industry
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose, repair, test and return items to service
  • Industry hazards and measures to protect against them
  • Welding techniques (for applicable credentials)
  • Use of tech-related written materials
  • Commitment to continuous improvement

An Ivy Tech degree or certificate in industrial technology provides students with skills to meet the ever-changing demands of the industry. You can learn concepts and practices that transfer between many occupations and trades that allow you to work with your hands and operate machinery.

Ivy Tech does not have a deadline for admission. Our 8-week class sessions start throughout the year—in January, March, June, August, and October—and there is no hard deadline for applying for any of the start dates. It's important, though, to apply early enough that you'll be able to complete all the degree planning, financial aid, and registration activities that need to happen before your first day. We recommend you apply about one month before you intend to start classes. See upcoming start dates >>
