Program Description:

As the regional leader in Commercial Driver Training since 1991, Lake Land College has helped hundreds of men and women find employment in the trucking industry. Some of the benefits drivers receive include: -Job Stability -Bonus Plans -Health & Life Insurance -Retirement Programs -Paid Vacations -Freedom & Independence Our 160 hour program focuses on the safe and proper handling of semi-tractor-trailers in restricted areas and on public streets and highways. Students train in various traffic environments, gaining experience in common driving challenges under real-world driving conditions. Emphasis is placed on skills required to pass the Illinois Secretary of State Commercial Driver License written and road tests. Special Emphasis is placed on skills required to operate equipment safely and respond to changing roadway conditions, hazards and emergencies.

21 years of Age for Interstate travel.Valid drivers licenseMust be Medically Qualified and pass a DOT PhysicalMust be able to read and speak the english language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand the highway traffic sign and signals in the english language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records (FMSCR 391.11)
