Description

Full-time and part-time faculty members must have a minimum of a Masters degree, but many have a Ph.D. This allows us to retain accreditation by CAEP and HLC.

The Transition to Teaching - Elementary Educationprogram prepares candidates to teach students in theelementarygrades -- kindergarten through grade six --in the state of Indiana. Candidates acquire pedagogical content knowledge to teach literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies toallelementarystudents. Candidates can apply all successfully completed courses to theMasters of Science in Elementary Education program if they decide to pursue that degree option. Doing so may lead to increased salary in their school district.

All students admitted to PFW Transition To Teaching (TTT) Programmust have a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited postsecondary institution with:an official transcript reflecting 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 Grade Point Average Scaleoran official transcript reflecting 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 Grage Point Average Scale and documentaton of five (5) years of professional experienceoran official transcript reflecting 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 Grage Point Average Scale and proof of passing of all state approved content area examination(s).

August 1 for Fall admission; December 1 for Spring admission; May 1 for Summer admission.
