Description

Full-time and part-time faculty members must have a minimum of a Masters degree, but most have a Ph.D. This allows us to retain accreditation by CAEP and HLC.

The Transition to Teaching - Secondary Education program prepares candidates to teach student in secondary grades -- fifth through twelfth -- in the state of Indiana. Candidates acquire pedagogical content knowledge to teach their specified content area(s) (e.g., business, mathematics, science). Candidates can apply all successfully completed curses to the Masters of Science in Secondary Education program, if they decide to pursue that degree option. Doing so may lead to increased salary in their school district.

All students admitted to the PFW Transition to Teaching (TTT) Secondary program must have a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited postsecondary institution with: an official transcript reflecting3.0 or higheron a 4.0 Grade Point Average Scaleor an official transcript reflecting 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 Grage Point Average Scale and documentaton of five (5) years of professional experienceor an official transcript reflecting 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 Grage Point Average Scale and proof of passing state approved content area examination(s) in the subject areas; Secondary TTT program also allows for the completion of a graduate degree from an accredited postsecondary institution in the subject area or related field in which the person wants to teach.

August 1 for Fall admission; December 1 for Spring admission; May 1 for Summer admission.
