Week Two (2) and Week Three (3) consist of Range and Road exercises that develop the hands on skills necessary to safely operate a semi-tractor-trailer in accordance with DOT rules and regulations. Skills obtained upon completion of the training program include but are not limited to:Safe and efficient backing, shifting, turning, coupling/uncoupling, vehicle inspection/maintenance, safe driving practices, communication, visual search, speed and space management, log keeping, cargo management and documentation. An additional four (4) hours of Night Driving is offered during the course so that the student may experience road conditions after dark.
